Local bike racer Adam Gittings is gearing up for his final meeting of the Thundersport GB season.

The 23-year-old, from Hyde, will conclude his second successive spell in the highly respected league at Cadwell Park later this weekend.

Sponsored by Selco Builders Warehouse, Gittings has competed in 30 races this season on his Suzuki GSX-R600 supersport bike.

Despite balancing full-time work with racing his bike, Gittings has taken the time to find new ways of improving his fitness.

In order to do this, the former Alder Community High School pupil has sought the expertise of gym instructor David Perrin, who owns ‘Seven Movement’, a new personal fitness centre based in Stockport.

Improving his health and overall fitness both on and off the track, Gittings had nothing but positive things to say about the fruitful partnership.

Speaking to Reporter Sport, he said: “Most people don’t realise just how physical and tiring racing a high-powered motorcycle can be, it’s not quite just perching on an uncomfortable seat and a simple twist of the wrist”.

Since forming the partnership in June, Gittings has reaped the benefits both physically and mentally.

Such is the quality of training on offer that Gittings lost more than a stone within the first seven weeks.

In order to supplement his training, the adrenaline junkie has been offered nutritional advice throughout the season, courtesy of Kate, who works alongside David as ‘seven nutrition’.

Explaining how the partnership has improved his performances, Gittings said: “I can’t thank David, Kate and everyone at Seven Movement enough.

“Their advice and guidance has not only improved my physical strength and stamina, but it’s increased my confidence on the track which is hugely important for all racers.

“I feel that maintaining the relationship will help me in my quest of securing my best ever results next year.”
