Stalybridge Celtic have signed midfielder Adam Morning from Colne.

Morning re-joins managers Paul Phillips and Steve Halford, having previously played under the duo at Ashton United.

The club have also announced the signing of defender Josh Heaton.

The 19-year-old joins from near neighbours Droylsden.

Heaton joined the Bloods over the summer following his release from Sky Bet Championship side Preston North End.

After impressing on-loan with National League North side Tamworth, the centre-back was rewarded with a one-year contract at Deepdale in the summer of 2015.

In a bid to gain more experience, Heaton spent three months on-loan with Colne FC at the end of the 2015/16 season, where he helped the club gain promotion to the NPL First Division North.
