Motorbike rider killed in Whaley Bridge named

A motorbike rider killed after a collision in Whaley Bridge has been named.

Peter Thwaites, 66, from Stockport, died following the tragedy on Buxton Road at around 1.50pm last Friday.

The collision involved a white Citroen Picasso and a dark grey Yamaha motorbike with yellow wheel rims.

He died at the scene as a result of his injuries.

His name was released on Monday by police, who are appealing to anyone who may have seen the incident or events leading up to it.
