Hayfield Royal British Legion are on the look out for any local First World War photographs.

They will be included in a video presentation for the High Peak’s Salute to the Somme event at New Mills Art Theatre in October.

Any family photos of local people who served during the battle, particularly those who fell, would also be gratefully accepted.

Photos can be accepted as an e-mail attachment or can be scanned by the legion to enhance their quality and clarity.

You can contact the legion’s secretary David Ash on 01663 742480 or e-mail [email protected] for further details.

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the Somme – a battle fought by the armies of the British and French empires against the German Empire.
