Earlier today, fixtures for the forthcoming FA Cup second qualifying round were announced.

Hyde United have been handed a relatively short trip to National League North side Stockport County.

The Tigers secured their place in the next round after beating Colne 1-0 on Saturday.

Hyde boss, Darren Kelly, commented on the tie. He said: “This is a great draw for Hyde and for the players.

“We would have loved a home draw, but an FA Cup local derby at Edgeley Park against one of the biggest club in non league football, with average home gates of 2700 this year, is the next best thing.

“They have a great pitch and like to play football so the draw suits our squad even if they are currently playing two divisions above us.

I know Jim Gannon well and and how he thinks. We will put together our game plan for the match and see what we can achieve.

“I will not start thinking about the game until we get the Lancaster and Glossop games out of the way and hopefully I will have a full, fit squad to pick from.

“Exciting times and great to be involved in our third FA Cup game. Bring it on”

Curzon Ashton have been handed a home tie to Consett AFC.

The visitors to the Tameside Stadium currently compete in the First Division of the Northern League.

Stalybridge Celtic will make the journey to Evo-Stik First Division South side, Witton Albion.

All ties are scheduled to be played on Saturday 17 September.
