Celtic Sign Two Ahead Of Tuesday’s Clash Against Harrogate Town

Stalybridge Celtic have announced the signings of Gary Gee and Adam Mather from Ashton United.

The pair follow in the footsteps of Jay Gorton and Danny Wilkins who have also made the switch from Hurst Cross.

Gee, a midfielder, joined the Robins in 2013 and made well over 100 appearances for the club.

The midfielder made more starts than any other outfield player during the 2015/16 season.

Gee has previously played for Stockport County, Woodley Sports and Mossley.

Mather, a defender, joins Celtic having previously played for a whole host of clubs, including Curzon Ashton, New Mills, Woodley Sports and Mossley.

Mather made over 250 appearances during his time with New Mills, and also helped Chorley win promotion from the the NPL in 2014 before joining Bradford Park Avenue.

Despite losing their managerial staff and four players within the space of a week, Ashton have managed to recruit the services of midfielder, Bobby Lofthouse.

Lofthouse has previously played for Stockport County, Squires Gate, Glossop North End and Mossley.

Having made his debut for Stockport aged 19, Lofthouse proceeded to make 50 apperances for the Hatters.
