Denton moved to the top of the Greater Manchester Division Two table on Saturday with a comprehensive victory over Radcliffe.

The visiting captain won the toss and elected to bat, and Taylor and Neill were their miserly selves with the ball.

By the time they had finished their spells, the visitors were 50-6 off 30 overs, with Taylor taking three wickets and Neill two.

Pannett and Buitendag then came on to tidy off the innings, with the visitors finishing 67 all out, not helped by two run outs. Wicketkeeper Berry was the top scorer with a well crafted 33.

In reply, Taylor and Mason got the chase off to a quick start, before both falling in quick succession with the score in the 30’s.

Buitendag steadied the ship, but when he fell with the score on 57, the batting bonus point was in doubt.

However Clayton and Beeley eased the nerves and saw Denton home for a 6 point win within 14 overs.
