Curzon claimed their first point of the season last night in a thrilling 4-4 draw at Bradford Park Avenue.

The Nash were looking for a much improved performance following a heavy 6-1 defeat to Kidderminster Harriers on the opening day of the season.

However, John Flanagan’s side found themselves two goals down within the opening 15 minutes.

Former Stalybridge Celtic midfielder Ben McKenna grabbed the first in the sixth minute, before Liam Dickinson – another former Celtic player – doubled the hosts advantage in the 13th minute.

Curzon scored two goals in quick succession to draw matters level.

Liam Tomsett and Iain Howard marked their first goals for the club since signing over summer with efforts in the 16th and 24th minute respectively.

The visitors managed to take the lead for the first time in the game when Paul Ennis struck int he 64th minute.

However, Bradford replied through Chris Sharp in the 76th minute, only for Curzon to reassert their lead two minutes later through Danny Hall.

Just when it looked as if Curzon were about to claim their first victory of the season, Sanchez Payne claimed a last gasp equaliser for Bradford after diverting McKenna’s cross into the back of the net.

The result leaves Curzon 20th in the table ahead of their clash at Alfreton Town on Saturday.
