St Peter’s and St Raphael’s Union of Catholic Mother’s annual summer Garden Party was a resounding success.

Despite the not-so-summery weather, a lot of people weathered the storm and supported the “Roaring Twenties”-themed event.

Everyone worked extremely hard to ensure that it was a success. The afternoon teas were superb and there was plenty of bargains for sale on the various stalls.

Members of the UCM joined in the spirit of the theme dressing up as Lyons Corner House Tea Room waitresses, 1920’s kitchen staff and, of course, 1920’s “flapper girls”.

A rolling 1920’s film was on display during the afternoon and there was entertainment by the fabulous Willow Wood Hospice Choir.

It was a very enjoyable event and raised a fantastic £700 for Willow Wood Hospice, which is the chosen charity for 2016 of St Peter’s and St Raphael’s UCM.
