Tameside College students dressed to impress to celebrate another fantastic year at their annual awards ball.

More than 200 students from food, business and hair and beauty attended the event held at Dukinfield Town Hall.

Students received a variety of awards in recognition of their commitment and determination.

While the guests enjoyed a lavish three course meal, they listened to a motivational speech from Dale Stafford, author of the book ‘The Book of Job’ and live music from NotNed.

The event was organised by business and enterprise students who ensured the evening ran smoothly from the delivery of the food courses to the timing of the awards speeches.

Kara Rodgers, a business student on the event’s organisation committee, said: “We’ve had such a great experience putting this event together, especially me because I want to pursue a career in event management.

“It’s been hard work, but we’ve worked together as a team and were excited it went so well.”

Charlotte Rowarth, business teacher at Tameside College, said: “The awards evening went fantastically well.

“Our students have done an excellent job in organising everything and everyone has had a great time.

“They thought out every detail, from goodie bags and cupcake centre pieces on the tables to booking the venue and promoting tickets. We’re really proud of what they have achieved. On behalf of the department, I’d like to thank everyone who came and congratulations to all of our award winners.”
