St Paul’s Church in Stalybridge welcomed a new Minister last week.

The Rev Emma Handley was officially registered in a ceremony at the Huddersfield Road church last week.

Emma is a mother-of-three and joins St Paul’s from St Mark’s Church in Bredbury where she did her curacy.

“I’m originally from down south but I’ve lived up here for longer than I lived down there so I consider myself an honorary Northerner,” she said.

“I’m looking forward to becoming part of the community here in Stalybridge, which I think is lovely.”

One of her first events as the new Minister is St Paul’s Summer Fair this Saturday, June 18.

There will be a car wash, children’s games, a brass band, a café and a variety of stalls. It is on from 11am-2pm and everyone is welcome.

Entrance is 50p for adults and free for children.
