Time is running out for groups and projects which provide activities for young people in Derbyshire to apply for a share of £50,000 from Derbyshire County Council.

Grants of up to £1,500 are available to help support youth clubs, sports, music and games clubs, media workshops and other sessions such as dance, drama or art.

The deadline for applications is the end of Friday, July 1.

Applications must consider and work towards priorities laid out by the Derbyshire Youth Council – who have helped devise the scheme – in the application pack, which can be found here.

DCC’s Deputy Cabinet Member of Children’s Services, Councillor Damien Greenhalgh, said: “The YOUTHINC, We Grant scheme is a grant by young people for young people and will give deserving projects throughout Derbyshire a real boost.”

Members of the Derbyshire Youth Council will help decide how the money is dispersed by considering the following:

  • If the project or campaign is accessible to all young people
  • How many young people will benefit
  • How long the project will run
  • Whether it is value for money
  • The long-term impact of the funding
  • What the money will be spent on
