Ashton Man Charged After Denton Collision Leaves 10-Year-Old Girl with Multiple Injuries

A man from Ashton has been charged after a ten-year-old girl was run over in Denton on Friday evening.

At 8:05pm, the girl was crossing at a pedestrian crossing on the eastbound carriageway of Manchester Road, when she was hit by a blue Audi RS4.

26-year-old Murat Polat was arrested at the scene and has now been charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving without insurance.

He was remanded into custody to appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates’ Court today, Monday June 20th.

The girl remains in serious, but stable, condition in hospital after suffering two broken legs, a smashed pelvis, a fractured skull and a bleed to the brain.
