List of candidates standing in local elections released.

The full list of candidates standing in this year’s Tameside Borough Council local elections is officially published today.

You can double click on the link below to view a pdf file of all the candidates standing.

Local council elections take place across the country on May 5, although there are no High Peak Borough Council and Derbyshire County Council elections this year.

The last date to register to vote in time for the Local Elections is Tuesday, April 19 and the last day to appoint a proxy to vote on your behalf is Tuesday, April 26.

Polling Day is Thursday, May 5.

The results will be announced at Dukinfield Town Hall on the Thursday night / Friday morning on May 5 / 6.

Tameside Radio will be broadcasting live from the count on the evening to bring you all the results as they happen, with full results and analysis in your Tameside Reporter the following Thursday.

The EU Referendum will be held on June 23 this year. The last day to register in time for the EU Referendum is Jun 7.

The Key EU Referendum Dates are
  • Tuesday 7 June – Last day to register in time for the EU Referendum
  • Wednesday 8 June (5pm) – Last day to apply for a Postal Vote
  • Wednesday 15 June (5pm) – Last day to appoint a proxy to vote on your behalf
  • Thursday 23 June – Polling Day

Counting will commence immediately after the poll with results expected to be declared the following day.
