Lorry driver robbed in lay-by
Tuesday 2nd February 2016 11:05 News Posted by Becky Cahill

Detectives are appealing for witnesses after a lorry driver, who stopped in a lay-by on Chapel bypass, was robbed.

The driver had pulled into a lay-by in the northbound carriageway and was followed in by what he described as a small hatchback car, which then parked in front of him.

He was then attacked by two men who fled with a few items from the cab a short time later.

The driver suffered non-serious injuries in the robbery, which happened at about 6.45am this morningĀ (Tuesday).

Detectives want to hear from anyone who saw the lorry in the lay-by or a small car in front of it.

They also want to hear from anyone who might have seen the small car drive out of the lay-by and off along Chapel bypass.

Witnesses or anyone with information should call Derbyshire police on 101, quoting incident 97 of February 2.
