Blueprint For The Future

High Peak’s blueprint for the future is weeks away from being formalised – around two years since preparation work first began.

The borough’s Local Plan which allocates sites for new homes and businesses up to 2031, was submitted to the Secretary of State in August 2014.

Following hearings last January, February and September, he has confirmed local people can have their say on the ‘main’ modifications to the plan.

Cllr Tony Ashton, council leader and Executive member with responsibility for planning policy, said: “We are making progress with the Local Plan which is the key document that will shape development in the borough for the next generation.

“This latest consultation follows examination by the Inspector and public hearings and it moves us on a further stage towards adoption of the Plan which is something we are all keen to achieve. People have until the end of January to comment on the modifications and I urge anyone interested to do so.”

Documents are available online, and Glossop Municipal Buildings and Buxton Town Hall, between 9am-4.30pm, Monday to Friday. Comments can be made via the online portal.
