Following hot on the heels of Carol Kirkwood, Katie Derham and Jay McGuiness, 20 local dancers are perfecting their Waltz, Cha-Cha-Cha and dance routines in the hope of becoming this year’s “Strictly for Willow Wood” Dance Champions.

With the couples currently in training, preparations for the big finale night at Dukinfield Town Hall on Saturday, December 5, are well underway.

The dancers will be performing ‘Strictly-style’ in front of a panel of judges and one lucky couple will be presented with the Willow Wood Glitter Ball trophy, won last year by Sharon Collins and Pete Woodward.

“Strictly” coordinator Lisa Stafford said: “Over the last few months our novice dancers have been taking lessons from local experts.

“All are now perfecting their routines and putting the final touches in an effort to impress the panel of Judges and the audience.

“Right from the word go their overwhelming enthusiasm has been infectious and our dancers have put a lot of hard work into their preparation and they are taking everything very seriously.”

The evening also includes a “sparkling” reception, delicious hot buffet, and a great programme of entertainment throughout.

There are just a handful of tickets left for the evening now, so if you would like to go be quick and contact the Willow Woods appeals office immediately on (0161) 330 7788
