A new local charity is appealing for support to help get it off the ground.

TIME (Terminally Ill Memorable Endings) UK has been set up by Carrbrook resident Dawn Adams, who is in remission from breast cancer.

The charity aims to take care and pay for funeral arrangements for terminally ill people so they can enjoy their final weeks or months with their loved ones without worrying.

Dawn said: “I keep on fighting and now want to help others that are in the worst position imaginable.”

Ahead of a big launch in February, Dawn is looking for small fundraising efforts to establish the charity.

Last month, Dawn held a pyjama party at her home with her friends to raise money and now she’s asking others to do the same.

“I made chilli and a curry which I sold and everyone donated raffle prizes. It didn’t cost a lot to host but we raised £205,” she said.

“However, a funeral usually costs a minimum of £2,000 so we need ten people to do something similar just for one funeral.”

Dawn is also appealing to local companies who can donate office equipment so that it doesn’t have to come out of the charity’s fund.

If you would like to donate equipment, contact Dawn on 0741 194 6843. To make a financial donation, bank transfers can be made to TIME UK’s account: account number 07207760 and sort code 77-67-09.
