People living in Hadfield are being encouraged to be extra security savvy following burglaries in the area.

Between 6pm on Saturday and 1.20pm on Sunday, thieves smashed the patio doors of a property on Hadfield Road.

Once inside they carried out an ‘untidy search’ before making off with electrical items which included a black Panasonic TV, Xbox 360, two digital cameras and an orange Apple watch.

A Michael Kors purse, Gucci watch and Guess watch were also stolen. The thieves then drove off in the victim’s Volkswagen Caddy van.

If you can help the police catch the crooks call 101, giving the crime reference number 49580/15.

Police were also called to a house on Thorncliffe Road after offenders smashed a ground floor window and door as they tried to gain entry.

The botched-up attempted burglary happened between 4.15-8pm on Saturday. The crime reference number is 9421/15.

Officers asked anyone with information on the raids or the whereabouts of the stolen items to get in touch.
