As part of the launch of their festive menu, Chiquitos Ashton invited 4 of Tameside Reporter’s journalists down to sample the new options.

Over the past 20 years, Chiquitos restaurants up and down the country have served ‘Tex-Mex’ cuisine to the nation.

Now well established in Tameside at its location on Ashton Moss, it’s ‘Christmas Fiesta’ menu provides tried and trusted favourites, with a Mexican twist.

For starters our team chose the Chorizo & Sweet Potato Hot Cakes, Roasted Salmon Tacos and a bowl of classic Nachos.

The main course came with a wide range of options, but our reporters chose the BBQ Chicken Street Style Burritos and Minted Lamb and Feta Burgers. More nacho’s accompanied the burritos, while the burgers were paired with delicious sweet potato fries.

On top of the starters and main, a special range of festive desserts are also available over the winter season. Our team chose between them Lemon Suena (a mix of lemon drizzle cake, lemon sorbet and whipped cream), luxurious chocolate stuffed churros, and Soft Chilli Chocolate Cookies.

A two course meal costs £16.95 and it’s £3.95 to add a dessert.

In addition to the fantastic array of food on offer, seasonal cocktails were available for the price of £6.45 a glass, or £19.95 a jug.

All the food on offer was of a very high standard and our 4 ‘critics’ went home incredibly satisfied. They were also impressed by the attentiveness of the staff’s service, and were particularly pleased by the warmth shown to them by Eduardo and his team. Christmas songs playing on the radio and festive jumpers on the staff really added to the overall Christmas atmosphere.
