Six West Hill students who raised £3,500 by completing the Three Peaks Challenge have presented the money to Tameside, Oldham and Glossop Mind.

The challenge involved climbing the highest peaks in England, Scotland and Wales (Snowden, Scafell Pike and Ben Nevis) with the team of six Year 11 students completing the endeavour over three days.

Gary Hind, the school’s Aim Higher Co-ordinator, thanked local businesses that helped the pupils to raise money through bag packing and congratulating the students on completing the challenge, saying: “The lads did exceptionally well in some appalling weather.”

The students were able to hand over £3,412.95 to the charity at the official cheque presentation at San Rocco restaurant.

Tameside, Oldham and Glossop Mind is an organisation that provides services promoting the well-being and improvement of the mental health of it’s clients.
