The Civic Mayor and Mayoress of Tameside Cllr Vincent Ricci and Julie Ricci were special guests at Droylsden’s Sunnyside Care Centre in Droylsden recently.

They were delighted to be able to attend the 100th birthday celebrations of resident Edith Fisher at the care home.

Edith was surrounded by flowers, presents and cards and enjoyed a birthday party which included an entertainer and singer, plus of course the all important birthday cake.

There was plenty of food and drink to enjoy and Edith had a wonderful day.

The Mayor said he and the Mayoress had spent a lovely afternoon with Edith.

“It was a pleasure to meet Edith and the other residents and we were delighted to be able to extend our congratulations and best wishes on such a special day,” he said.

Sunnyside is run by Meridian Healthcare, which recently took delivery of a new
minibus for use across all of its 14 Tameside care homes.

Situated on the outskirts of Droylsden, Sunnyside provides residential and
dementia care and support for up to 43 elderly people.
