A-Level students have been reaching for the A-stars after receiving their results this year.

Not least Hyde Clarendon’s James Berezowski from Newton, who gained an A* in Physics and two As in Maths and chemistry – and who is off to study astrophysics at the University of Manchester.

The 18-year-old was over the moon as he opened his results, saying: “I’ve always had a massive fascination with the night sky… and known for a long time I’ve wanted to go for a PhD, hopefully specialising in some form of astrophysics and then after that becoming a researcher at an institute or university.”

James’ A-mazing achievement was one of many high flyers whose results were out of this world and saw students from across Tameside landing places at some of the top universities in the country – including Oxford and Cambridge.

Don’t miss all the A-Level results, reports and pictures in this week’s Tameside Reporter.
