Lavender Ribbon Family Fun Day raises over £1200
Tuesday 25th August 2015 @ 22:14 by Mark Andrews

On Saturday, families turned out in their hundreds to Cheethams Park in Stalybridge to support Lavender Ribbon Cancer Support.

The whole park was covered with face-painted children, tombola and sweet stalls, huge inflatable slides, bush craft displays and much more. With a live DJ and bucket collectors working round the clock, the event raised over £1200.

Based in Ashton-under-Lyne, Lavender Ribbon is a local charity and according to the funding manager Andrew Morris ‘it is the first of its kind in the North West’.

Andrew said: “We help support cancer patients to give them the best possible outcome through a number of services including nutrition, exercise and general everyday support”.

Lavender Ribbon Cancer Support offers support and practical assistance to anyone affected by any type of cancer, at all stages of the journey. Whether recently diagnosed, undergoing treatment or after treatment care.

From therapies to support and enhance quality of life, to nutritional advice and exercise plans, to counselling and financial support – Lavender Ribbon offers everything to help support the patients and families affected by cancer.
