GCSE students at Copley Academy, Stalybridge, were celebrating after achieving a series of outstanding results.

Eighty per cent of Year 11 pupils received grades A* to C, with a number of those students achieving A* to C in 10 subjects or above.

Chelsea Byrom was reduced to tears on the morning, with the Head Girl stating: “I didn’t expect to get the grades, so as soon as I read what I’d achieved, I cried my eyes out.”
