A fundraiser was held for the Stroke Association at Dukinfield Rugby Club on Saturday.

Hannah McDonald, from Dukinfield, who suffered a stroke herself aged just 20 while studying at the University of Leeds six years ago, was behind the event.

Thanking her this week was Rebecca Owen from the Stroke Association said: “We completely rely on the generosity of the public to fund everything we do as a charity.

“Events like this are very important. Hannah is a stroke survivor herself, she’s a young girl which is more proof that strokes don’t just happen to older people.

“Events like this are really great for raising awareness, as well as raising funds to help local stroke survivors.”
