Cider lovers will be able to enjoy a range of draught ciders from England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland during a 17-day festival at three pubs in the area.

The festivals will take place from today (Friday July 10) until Sunday July 26 inclusive at The Ash Tree in Wellington Road, Ashton-Under-Lyne, The Society Rooms in Grosvenor Street, Stalybridge and at The Smith Fold in Victoria Street, Glossop.

The pubs will each offer a selection of up to 20 ciders (apple, pear and fruit), including some never previously available in the pubs and others produced exclusively for the festival.

They include award-winning ciders, together with those with unusual flavours; wild raspberries, whisky, marmalade, bourbon, rum, elderflower and blackberry.

Among those on offer are; Marmalade Cider (Orchard Pig), Painted Lady (Barbourne Perry Co), Doctor’s Orders (Green Valley Cyder), Black Rat (Moles Brewery), Legbender Cider (Rich’s Cider), Somerset Fruit Forager (The Shepton Mallet Cider Mill) and The Collaborators (Sandford Orchards and La Ferme de Billy).

One of the ciders, The Collaborators, has been made by a French cider maker in collaboration with an English cider maker.

£2.30 a pint

Each of the ciders will be available at £2.30 a pint.

The Ash Tree manager, Ray Carroll, said: “The pub will be offering a superb selection of ciders, which I am confident will appeal to cider lovers and those enjoying cider for the first time.”

Customers can enjoy three one-third pint of ciders for the price of a pint.

Tasting notes on all the ciders will be available in the pubs.
