Former Audenshaw School pupil Jack Johnson has signed full time with Warrington Wolves Rugby League Club.

The 19 year old has agreed a one-year deal with the Wolves until November 2016.

Jack, who studied at the Hazel Street school from 2007 to 2014, is product of the club’s youth system and was part of the England Academy squad last year.

The youngster made an impact during England Under 19’s emphatic 28-12 victory against Australia last year, scoring a try on the memorable evening.

He has made 15 appearances for the under 19’s to date this season, touching down 11 tries.

Jack has embarked on a similar journey to fellow Audenshaw product and Warrington player, Gene Ormsby.

Following last year’s victory against Australia, Jack told Reporter Sport: “Coming off the pitch was the best feeling of my life.

“To win against Australia happens rarely so I’m delighted to be part of this effort.”

Despite harbouring ambitious desires, Jack has always remained grateful to Audenshaw School. “I had Mr Rose as a school coach and he was also the Warrington Wolves Academy Coach and England under 16 coach.

“I was taken to Warrington in 2009 by Mr Rose on the Under 14 Scholarship programme.

“I was trained and taught the skills and techniques that would ensure I progressed into the higher ranks of the game.”

During his time at the school, Jack won the Kirkham Sevens tournament and toured South Africa in the same year.

After putting pen to paper at the Halliwell Jones Stadium, Jack told the clubs official website: “I’m very proud to have signed for such a big club like Warrington.

“I owe a lot to everyone who has helped me along the way both inside and outside of the club.

“It was always a massive target of mine, to sign for the first team, when I started here in the scholarship system five years ago so to have achieved it is great for me.

“I now want to kick on and work harder and I am looking forward to the challenge.”

Warrington lie sixth in the Super league table after last Thursday’s defeat against St Helens.
