Two local indi-rock bands are to entertain free to help send fellow musicians on a  poignant journey of remembrance.
The Divide are an up and coming band from Oldham, and Non-SkiLLs will appear at Dobcross Band and Social Club on Saturday,  July 11.
Their mission is to help fund Dobcross Silver Band and the Brass Monkeys on a trip to play The Last Post at  the Menin Gate, Belgium.
The Divide play covers from the likes of Kings of Leon to Blur. They write their  own material and are look to release  debut singles “Foolish Dreams” and “17”  soon.
Non-SkiLLs originally formed in the fifth form at Saddleworth School in the late 70’s.
Now they have re-formed and are strongly influenced by the work of bands like The Clash, Buzzcocks and the Pixies. They play a fast and eclectic mix of old and new from the Indie ‘Punk box’.
Doors for the event open at 7.30pm and entry is by donation. There is a hot supper and the caterers will donate £1 from every supper sold with recipients gaining free entry to a glittering prize raffle.
