TALENTED GROUP: Clint Boon, who will be at Blackthorn Music Festival on Friday, praised Stockport band Strangeways last month (June) after they reached the final of a national music competition.

Building on the success of last year, the festival – between July 24 and 26 – will give undiscovered musicians an opportunity to showcase their talents alongside more established acts at Etherow Country Park, Compstall, Stockport.

Strangeways will play on the Main Stage as will chart-topping indie rock band The Enemy, alternative dance group The Sunshine Underground and JJ Rosa.

Fresh from playing during the Tour of Tameside ‘Maybe Frank’, who also featured on Tameside Radio in April, will play on the Meadow Stage.

Other acts on this stage will be Kalandra, Little Sparrow while on the Dome stage will be Stillia, The Saffrons and Indigo Empire.

BLACKTHORN MUSIC FESTIVAL: Start's on the 24 July until 26 July.
