The 710 men of the old Borough of Hyde who gave their lives in the 1st World War will be remembered at the Peace Day Service to be held at the Cenotaph on Werneth Low, on Sunday 28th June 2015 at 3.00pm.

Remembered too will be men and women across Tameside who lost their lives in later conflicts, and those who are currently engaged in active service in all parts of the world.

The service will be led by Deacon Tom Luke of the Hyde and Denton Circuit. The Civic Mayor and Mayoress of Tameside, Cllr Vincent Ricci and his wife Julie, The Royal British Legion, St.John’s Mossley Band, and other groups and organisations, are to attend the occasion, and wreaths will be laid.

The Hyde War Memorial Trustees and members, and the Country Park Rangers consider it a great honour to remember all those men and women who have given their lives in all conflicts in order to bring freedom.
