Cuts force police station closure

Glossop police station will soon be  shutting its doors permanently to the people it serves.

Government cuts have forced Derbyshire Constabulary to slash its 16 enquiry offices county-wide to four.

And Glossop isn’t one of the quartet being reprieved.

By September the only stations people can call in to see a police officer will be Buxton, Chesterfield and two in Derby.
