Representing Central Lancashire Swimming association, the budding talent emerged from the pool in victorious having achieved no less than three personal bests across the two day event.

His selection for the Central Lancashire Swimming and Water Polo Association followed sensational swims in September and October during the Greater Manchester Autumn meet.

His venture last weekend saw him take to the water in Huyton, Merseyside, where he faced some of the best talent across the region, including Liverpool, Manchester, Bolton and Cumbria.

The keen swimmer picked up bronze in his first race having finished the 50m breast event in 45.70 seconds.

The ten year old then saw his efforts rewarded with a 5th place finish in the 50m fly with a fantastic personal best of 38.94 seconds.

Despite giving it his all in the previous two events, Patrick took to the pool again to compete in the 200m breast event. He once again proved his worth and completed the race with a time of 3 minutes 28 seconds, securing a 5th place finish and another personal best.

The gruelling 200m butterfly event was next on the agenda – not that Patrick was deterred by the prospect – as he encapsulated his successful outing with a fourth place finish in the 200m butterfly race.

Another personal best of 3 minutes 11 seconds was closely followed by his last swim of the weekend where he placed 5th in the 200m Individual Medley.

The Marlins chronicled Patrick’s success over the two days on their twitter page, with a Dukinfield Marlins Spokesperson telling Reporter Sport “All of Dukinfield Marlins swimming club are very proud of Patrick’s achievements and delighted that he has also managed to secure 13 Cheshire County qualifying times for the Cheshire County Championships in January and February of 2015.

“For Patrick, who also trains at Stalybridge Swimming Club, the next 12 months are looking bright! Well done Patrick!”
