As one, “Everybody in Sankeys,” cried Beardyman, constantly repeating the line until it reverberated around the large narrow basement room which sits on the edges of Ancoats.

JAGUAR SKILLS: Multi-Genre Master Jaguar Skills wowed a packed audience at Sankeys last night.

For underneath this long since-used Mill, Sankeys, in their 20th anniversary year, brought to Manchester a musician who has been impressing crowds for over 10 years.

The former beat-boxer might not be as one-dimensional as in the past, where he used to impress on crowds with his relentless popularity soaring beat-boxing skills, but instead arrived in Manchester with his incredibly advanced new music system – the Beardytron 5000.

The South-London based 36-year-old used his system at an impressive rate throughout his 90-minute set, which took the thousands of people in Sankeys through until 3.30am, ready for their main event in the form of Jaguar Skills, who dusted off some very heavy beats until the doors closed at 5am.

The ninja outfit wearing DJ quickly picked up the pace with his excitable manner which was very much like a hip-hop take on Dragon Ball Z.

It was a unique and playfully animated performance which showcased a wide range of multi-genre cut and pasting, creating a plethora of madness from front to back.

Beardyman might have ticked all the boxes last night, but it was Jaguar Skills who took to the decks and made the full crowd in the Jersey Street venue move like no ordinary DJ could.
