The curtain finally closed on the cricket season last month, but Flowery Field proved to be a hive of activity last Friday.

The Hyde based side, who ended their season placing 10th in the league, assembled at the club on the evening to celebrate the ups and downs of the season gone by.

A series of awards were distributed on the night, with both first and second team players praised for some exceptional performances.

Those that took to the stage included Harry Gee and Gregg Lomax, who picked up the 1st XI Batting and 1st XI bowling awards respectively.

Former Denton West’s Jamie Williams found his efforts on the pitch rewarded with the 1st XI fielding prize, whilst Lee Milner collected the Players Player trophy for the impression he made on his team mates.

A number of players from the second team were recipients of awards too, with Andy Lyon picking up the 2nd XI batting accolade for his performances during the season.

Andy Barber found himself take to the stage on two occasions throughout the evening, collecting both the 2nd XI bowling award and players player trophy.

The Flowery Field star made an impression during the teams cup final triumph too, as he found himself lifting the Hulme Trophy and collecting the man of the match title.

Fourteen year old Owen Feakes stamped his authority on the previous campaign and found his endeavours across the pitch awarded with the 2nd XI fielding award.
