Section 20 Offender 1 Section 20 off 2

A man was left with a fractured skull after he was assaulted in Ashton-under-Lyne.

At around 10.30pm on Sunday 4 May 2014, the 25-year-old was outside of the Timezone pub on Old Street smoking a cigarette with his partner, when there was an argument between him and another man.

Two unknown men walked up to him and tried to hit his partner.

He then confronted one of them before being assaulted. He was knocked unconscious and both offenders ran away.

Detective Constable John Nestor said: “We believe these two men have seen the argument and decided to take unnecessary action by attacking this man.

“He was hit with such force, his skull was fractured and he had a bleed on the brain. Thankfully, he is recovering well from his injuries.

“We believe someone somewhere will know who the two people are in the images we have released. If you do, I would urge you to contact police.”

Anyone with information should phone police on 0161 856 9260 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
