Why it’s Jolly Hatters to Denton’s big clean.
Saturday 3rd May 2014 @ 17:00 by Anna Fletcher

It was Jolly Hatters off to volunteers who teamed up for a big clean around Denton recently.

They descended on the pub to raise a glass and a litter pick to their two-hour mission around the town’s streets.

An army of volunteers from Greystones and the Town Lane area clubbed together for the effort, suitably equipped with their pickers and bin liners.

Denton Councillor Dawson Lane was involved in the operation and said the clean-up team had made a big difference.

“We had 23 people from Greystones and some from the pub who helped to clean up the streets,” he said.

“We managed to fill around 30 bags full of garbage and I really think we made a difference.”
