A funeral director has pleaded guilty to three counts of fraud and other financial offences while operating from his business.Michael O’Brien, who operated Murray’s Funeral Services in Dukinfield, admitted nine offences, eight of selling uninsured funeral plans, and one of failing to supply a headstone, when he appeared in court last Wednesday.He will be sentenced at Minshull Street Crown Court, Manchester, on Monday under the Fraud Act and the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008.

It follows a nine-month investigation by Tameside Council trading standards officers and Greater Manchester Police.
