Local businessman Stephen Peel has been on a whirlwind of a fundraising tour this year, most recently running the
London Marathon for Willow Wood.

Stephen was sponsored by the Sock Shop and to honour that ran in a sock costume which he also donned when he was asked to take someone’s place in the Manchester Marathon last minute.

A team from the Village in Ashton had someone drop out due to injury and Stephen valiantly took their place to help raise money for the Young Oncology Unit.

However, this team were getting dressed up as cops and robbers and to make sure he matched Stephen got into his sock costume and added a policeman’s helmet!

If that wasn’t enough, Stephen also held a charity fashion show at The Village in Ashton with all funds going to Willow Wood.

Stephen said: “It went great, it was a good turn out and we really did push it this time. One of the models turned 21 at midnight and so we even managed to organise a cake for her!”

This is the second fashion show Stephen has done for charity. Each year he chooses a good cause and spends the year fundraising doing everything from finding the happiest face in Ashton to trekking through the Himalayas.
