Droylsden Academy students are celebrating the arrival of their brand new football kits thanks to the O2 Store in Ashton.

The two have been working together on the Think Big School project in which students learned about digital capabilities including social media, app design and web design.

After the event Caroline got back in touch with Jonathan and Jim and asked if they would be interested in sponsoring a football kit for one year of the Academy.

“I didn’t expect them to say yes, but then they offered to sponsor the kit for every year in the Academy.

“We are so thankful.”

That added up to 70 Nike kits given to the teams in each year with the colours chosen being royal blue and yellow.

More on this in this week’s (8th May) Tameside Reporter out now.
