Eight-year-old primary school pupil Adam Berry is celebrating after being offered a contract by Manchester United.

Adam, from Ashton, (pictured) who goes to St Christopher’s RC Primary, also attends Sala Soccer Schools in Tameside as well as playing for Stalybridge Celtic Juniors under-eights team.

His quick feet, slinky skills and rapid pace have attracted a host of clubs wanting to give him a trial including Manchester City, Liverpool, Everton and Blackburn Rovers.
Sala Soccer Schools (SSS) head coach and Stalybridge Celtic under-eights manager Neil Lucas said: “Adam is one of the very best footballers I have coached since I started coaching nine years ago.

“He has a great attitude, and has really worked hard since joining our soccer school two years ago.

“Now his hard work is paying off, although this is only the beginning, and Adam is one to watch for the future, as many clubs have been fighting for Adam’s signature.”
