Droylsden Academy has received an unfavourable Ofsted report following a recent inspection.

This week the Academy was judged ‘inadequate’ by inspectors, the lowest score.

The Academy is one of a series undergoing inspections.

Dowson Primary in Hyde received a ‘requires improvement’ grading in its report published on Tuesday.

Audenshaw School Academy Trust also received a ‘requires improvement’ result, as did Astley Sports College and Community High School.

However, Ashton’s St Damian’s RC Science College improved upon its last inspection with overall effectiveness  judged to be ‘good’ upon its report released last week.

Similarly Arlies Primary School in Stalybridge was judged to be ‘good’ once again by the school watchdog while Samuel Laycock School in Ashton received the same ‘good’ grading too.

• A full individual round up on each Tameside school to have been inspected will feature in next week’s Tameside Reporter.
