Simply egg-cellent. That was the verdict on Droylsden Easter Market after the number of visitors – and the weather – surpassed all expectations.

At times it looked as though half the town’s residents were at the three-day event which was organised by the
Droylsden Town Team with help from Tameside Council.

Visitors browsed 24 stalls selling food and other goods, and enjoyed a wide range of entertainment.

One especially popular attraction was the children’s area where youngsters could try their hand at archery and birdbox-making or take a look at animals.

Youngsters were especially keen to see the snakes, lizards and tarantulas.

Shops in the Droylsden Centre also benefited, with many saying that it had been one of their best weekend for years.
