UP FOR NATIONAL AWARD: Suren Beebakhy.

An Ashton nurse is up for a top national award thanks to a large number of public votes from across Tameside.

Suren Beebakhy is up against just three other nurses in the whole country for the Patients Choice Award for going the extra mile in providing outstanding care across the borough.

One of the patients who voted for him, Jackie Morris, nominated Suren for the care he gave to her mother during the last few weeks of her life.

She said: “Suren got us through the tough days, made us laugh and he would often lift all of our spirits.”

The overall winner of the Patients’ Choice Award is through the public vote. People can vote via, http://www.patients-choice.co.uk; 0845 653 0195 selecting ‘1’ for Nurse Suren or by texting: ‘NURSE’, followed by a space, then ‘A’ for Suren to 81025.

Voting closes on Friday 25th April 2014.  The winner will be announced at a ceremony in London on 9th May.
