Making Ends Meet.

Ashton man Kevin McCann is taking on the mammoth challenge of walking from John O’ Groats to Land’s End this summer and is determined to make the trip spending as little money as possible.

He has entitled his journey End to End on a Shoestring and his aim is not to pay for any accommodation over the 79 nights it will take him so that he can donate even more money to charity. …

He is already planning to publish a book of his adventures
after he finishes the trek.

Kevin has spent 12 months planning for the challenge and has his tent ready to sleep in.

However, it is unlikely that he will need it, because thanks to the generosity of people along the way, he has found a place to stay for free for every night but nine so far.

In fact, in one village in the Scottish highlands, the fire station has opened its doors for the night and organised meals for Kevin in the village.

Kevin is currently looking for donations or sponsors, you can contact him on 0161 308 4536 or visit his blog at
