MAN HUNT: If you know this man contact the police

Police want to trace this man after a dog was tied up behind a Glossop pub and left there for seven hours.

The incident happened on Friday, January 31, but police have only now made a plea for information.

They also released CCTV images of the man officers want to trace in connection with the abandonment.

They say the Alsatian was tied up behind the Beehive Inn on Hague Street, about 1.10pm on January 31.

Officers were alerted by a member of the public at around 8pm when the dog had still not been collected.

The RSPCA were called to the incident.

RSPCA inspector Gilly Howard said: “Fortunately this dog was spotted and taken in by a caring member of the public, who has now given her a new home.

“If not, she could well have been there all night.”

PC Sean Moss from Glossop Safer Neighbourhood Team wants anyone with  information,  or who recognises the man in the CCTV images,  to contact police to help with the RSPCA investigations.DOG MAN RETURNS

While police do not endorse rewards, a resident who has taken ownership of the dog, has offered £100 to anyone with information leading to the man in the CCTV images being traced.

If you can help, call PC Moss on 101, or phone Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
