Even though High Peak’s MP hasn’t touched a drop for two months!

Mr Bingham gets his honour for supporting local pubs and helping cut beer duty in the Budget.

Since starting a ‘Dry January’ campaign aimed at encouraging people to drink less, he’s not even sipped his favourite bitter.

It’s not kept him out of the pubs, although for the time being the drink’s definitely soft.

And it’s this that has helped get Mr Bingham his ‘campaigning for local pubs’ award.

It came from the British Beer and Pub Association, Campaign for Real Ale and the Society of Independent Brewers.

“I’m delighted,” said Andrew.

“I’m just trying to do my best to help local businesses and communities in the High Peak.

“So to receive an award for doing so is very unexpected and a real pleasure.

“I’ve always said local pubs are at the heart of communities, especially rural communities like our’s here in the High Peak.
