Glossop’s latest town centre attraction opened late last week and the café/bar group Loungers got some local youngsters to help them prepare.

North View Day Nursery joined Pico Lounge executive chef Theo Guy at the Howard Town Mill outlet in a cookie decorating competition.

Mayor Cllr Tony Kemp was the judge with the difficult job, finally choosing four-year-old Carter Roberts’ entry.

Loungers operations manager Antony Doyle said:  “We’ve had great fun with the children this morning!

“Glossop is the perfect area for our Lounge concept.

“There’s already a thriving and vibrant community and we’re really looking forward to playing our part.”

Loungers has invested £450,000 in transforming the unit into an all day bar and eaterie, creating 25 jobs for local people in the process.
