Police have released an image of this man wanted in connection with an attempted robbery in Tameside.

Just after 6pm on Sunday 1 December 2013, two men walked into David Pluck Bookmakers, Reddish Lane, Denton and approached the kiosk. One of them was carrying a sawn-off shotgun and the other was believed to have one in a plastic bag.

On seeing the pair enter the shop, the employee was able to lock herself into a secure area.

She was not directly threatened with the shotgun but heard the threats and demands for cash that were shouted by the offenders.

They tried to open the door but left empty handed, towards Laburnum Road.

One man is desribed as being white 5ft 10in to 6ft tall, of medium build, wore a blue hooded top, blue cap, had his face covered and wore blue jeans or tracksuit pants.

The second is described as being white, 5ft 10in tall, of medium build, a black hooded jacket, trousers and shoes.

Detective Constable Wayne Marshall based at Hyde police Station said: “These men acted in an aggressive manner and obviously the shop worker feared for her safety when faced with a sawn-off shotgun.

“She did the right thing and ensured she was safe.  When the men realised they were not going to get anything from the bookmakers, they ran off.

“I would ask anyone who saw these two men running away from the scene towards Laburnum Road to contact us as soon as possible.”
