Girls grin and bare it!

Glossop has got its very own Calender Girls who are baring almost all for charity.

But you can’t take a peek at the lasses from High Peak unless you shell out £5 for a copy.

The black cover with its sexy pink lettering – and the 12 shots inside – are sealed in cellophane.

The 12 friends are hoping to raise cash for The Christie.

They have sold all but 90 of the 250 copies, which if they all go, will mean at least £750 for Europe’s leading cancer hospital.

“It could be more, some people have paid more than £5 for a copy,” said Linda Foster-Currie, who dreamed up the calender idea when she decided to raise money for a cancer charity.

She floated it with professional photographer friend Nilufer Lazenby who agreed to do the shoot for free. The next step was finding 11 more women to join her.

“I got family and friends and we all went down to Nilufer’s studio,” she said. “It was all done in a night and it was funny.”

Like most people the 12 pin-up girls knew someone affected by cancer, in some cases members of the family. So they didn’t need much persuading to strip off.

Linda, ‘Miss August’, added: “The girls also added personal messages (relating to cancer) with their pictures.”

Nilufer said: “I was happy to help, I would do the same for other charities.”

Calenders are on sale at town centre shops Glossop Eyewear, Frocks, Beauty Pad and Cancer Research, or by emailing [email protected] To contact Nilufer go to or Free Agent.
